Privacy Policy for Home Assistant by EaseIT.cz

EaseIT.cz (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Alexa Skill Home Assistant by EaseIT.cz, in compliance with Amazon’s privacy requirements for skills.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to enable the functionality of the skill:

  • Email address
  • Full name
  • API connection details: API URL, API passport

We do not collect any voice recordings or transcripts beyond what Alexa inherently processes (and what Amazon handles under its own policies).

2. Use of Information

We use the information only for the internal operation of the skill:

  • To identify and authenticate the user
  • To connect and maintain the backend link between Alexa and your configured API endpoint
  • To facilitate the proper functioning of the skill

We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

3. Disclosure and Third Parties

  • We do not sell or lease your personal data.
  • We do not disclose your personal or connection data to third parties, except:
    1. When required by lawful process (court order, government request)
    2. When necessary to enforce our rights (fraud, abuse)
    3. To service providers under contract who help us operate the skill (but only with strictly limited access)

4. Data Storage, Security & Encryption

  • All data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
  • Data in transit is encrypted (e.g. via TLS/HTTPS).
  • We apply robust organizational and technical safeguards (access controls, auditing, encryption at rest where possible) to protect against unauthorized or accidental access, alteration or destruction.
  • Access to data is limited to personnel or systems that need it for the operation of the skill.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the skill.
  • If you request, we will delete your data, after which it will no longer be accessible.
  • In case of deletion or account termination, we will remove data from active stores and schedule it for secure purge (per AWS practices).

6. Your Rights & Choices

You have these rights:

  • Access: See what data we hold about you
  • Correction: Ask for updates to incorrect or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data
  • Revocation of Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing (which may disable skill functionality)

7. Children’s Privacy

This skill is not intended for children under 13 (or applicable local age). We do not knowingly collect personal data from users known to be under that age.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally (e.g. to comply with law or Alexa policies). Changes become effective when we post the revised version with a new effective date.
